Making Madison More
Safe
Expanding Safety Based initiatives
Expand the CARES program.
Invest in youth and violence prevention programs.
Implement community oversight for law enforcement.
Ensure transparency in policing and investigations.
Cultivate safe sidewalks and analyze speed limits.
A truly safe and equitable community requires a holistic approach that invests in resources, infrastructure, and opportunities. As someone actively involved in PTOs and coaching school-related clubs like 4H, First Lego League, and soccer teams, I have seen firsthand the value of youth engagement in providing opportunity. It is our responsibility to keep our kids safe whether at bus stops, crosswalks, or in after-school programs. Programs like CARES, with community service responders, ensure safety beyond law enforcement, while safe sidewalks, appropriate speed limits, and well-maintained parks create secure neighborhoods. Strengthening the fabric of our city to support everyone will ensure an accountable and safe Madison.
