Making Madison More

Safe

Expanding Safety Based initiatives

  • Expand the CARES program.

  • Invest in youth and violence prevention programs.

  • Implement community oversight for law enforcement.

  • Ensure transparency in policing and investigations.

  • Cultivate safe sidewalks and analyze speed limits.

A truly safe and equitable community requires a holistic approach that invests in resources, infrastructure, and opportunities. As someone actively involved in PTOs and coaching school-related clubs like 4H, First Lego League, and soccer teams, I have seen firsthand the value of youth engagement in providing opportunity. It is our responsibility to keep our kids safe whether at bus stops, crosswalks, or in after-school programs. Programs like CARES, with community service responders, ensure safety beyond law enforcement, while safe sidewalks, appropriate speed limits, and well-maintained parks create secure neighborhoods. Strengthening the fabric of our city to support everyone will ensure an accountable and safe Madison.
